The tribe looked pretty beaten up today. They had definitely seen a workout or two this week and it showed. Cindy was the only one who seemed ready to go. After a brief warmup we got down to the business of the infamous Turkish Getup.

Now, I think everyone knows by now that I love this exercise. It's a tremendous strength builder once you start lifting heavier weights. It builds shoulder capsule stability and strength like few other movements and it teaches coordination. If more people realized how beneficial this movement is they would be coming in early and staying late to get a few extra reps in. As it was, everyone was busy asking, "Is this our WOD today?"

Nope, it wasn't. We were going to run (I know, instant applause from the crowd right?) The girls decided that they didn't need to do a full warmup jog and instead decided cut early and turn back and then use their first round as a warmup. This might explain while the men put up some of their better times in the first round and the women put up their worst (Cindy being the exception).

Jon decided to run all four rounds even though he had the option to sit the last one out. He might be experiencing a little muscle stiffness today. Dylan put in the best time of the day on his first run. Jess looked best on her last two runs, she really dug deep. It was a noticeable difference in intensity from her in the last two rounds. Susan crashed out after round two, but after a quick scooby-snack she managed to come back and run the last round. Alex was another standout today. He ran his best time during his last round. This takes serious determination and mental fortitude. He showed heart today (especially after moving up in weight on the Turkish Getups).

That leaves us all tired and sore. Fortunately a nice weekend or R&R should take care of that.
