Several weeks ago I had the good fortune to go camping with CrossFit Prescott. Good times ensued. This week will be looking at a series of photo’s posted on CrossFit Prescott’s facebook page of one of there athletes. Dana is a very successful business person and an all around great guy. All photo’s and commentary are CrossFit Prescott’s. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I did.

Because of his natural beast strength and years of frontally focused training, I asked Dana to demonstrate the concept of a frontally driven power clean. He began by setting his pull position with the scapula well ahead of the bar and a high hip, generating tension in the front of the leg (quads). Note that here he shows knee extension as the primary force moving the bar, while the hip has not yet begun to open.
